DESI PINK HIBISCUS
Care Instructions
1. Sunlight
-
Full Sun: Thrives best in 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight every day for dense blooms.
-
Partial Shade: Can tolerate mild afternoon shade, but fewer flowers will develop.
2. Soil & Potting
-
Soil: Requires well-draining, nutrient-rich soil with a slightly acidic pH (6.0–6.8).
-
Potting Mix: Equal parts garden soil, organic compost (cow manure or vermicompost), and sand/coco peat.
3. Watering
-
Moisture: Keep soil consistently moist, especially during peak growth in hot weather. Water when the top 1 inch of soil feels dry.
-
Drainage: Prevent water stagnation at the roots to avoid root rot. Reduce watering during winter.
4. Fertilizer
-
Potassium Boost: Apply organic compost or potassium-rich fertilizers (e.g., banana peel liquid fertilizer, mustard cake, or 10-10-20 NPK) every 2–3 weeks during growth seasons.
-
Avoid High Nitrogen: Excessive nitrogen will produce thick foliage with fewer flower buds.
5. Pruning & Maintenance
-
Pruning: Prune in early spring or post-monsoon to promote bushy growth and fresh flowering branches.
-
Deadheading: Pluck off spent blossoms to divert the plant's energy into setting new buds.
